Marlon Brando Molested his daughter Cheyenne (FULL interview) (2023)

From Paris Match interview (1993)

Part 1:

reporter: You have made [the] allegation . . . that your father behaved in an unnatural way toward you. Will you now explain?

cheyenne: I have always been the "sacrifice" of Marlon Brando, his lamb for sacrifice, for his own personal happiness. I have said that I have been sexually abused by my father. My first memories go back to age seven.

reporter: Did you tell your mother about it?

cheyenne: No, I never told anybody about it, not even my mother.

reporter: How would you describe these "sexual abuses"?

cheyenne: My father acted in a strange way toward me, frequently touching my breast or giving me, on my bed, some massages, bouncing me on the bed as if he wanted me to mime for him the gestures of making love, like I'm having sex. He continued touching my breast even when I already was with Dag. To a certain degree, it was also a game on his part, and as a child I didn't always understand what was happening. He was also nice to me, taking walks, talking to me, but I was also very angry with him, because I remember now what he was doing to me.

reporter: What was it like living on Tetiaroa? Do you remember being with your father there?

cheyenne: I think my father was an alcoholic when he was there. I was told that he would drink whiskey and eat a mango at the same time. I lived on Tetiaroa for about two years. The longest he came was for about two or three months. . . .

reporter: When your father brought you to Los Angeles in August 1992, did you want to come?

cheyenne: Yes, but I thought it was for just a visit. ... I didn't know I was supposed to stay a long time.

reporter: You didn't know he had bought a house for you?

cheyenne: No, he didn't talk about that. Maybe he thought he could isolate me.

reporter: Why did he want to do that?

cheyenne: I think he was worried I would say something wrong, or something I didn't mean.

reporter: What was it like living with him during those months?

cheyenne: He often went in his room and put on a Do Not Disturb sign. That was when he did his "exercise." He said he sat in the dark room and played tapes. He said they were "autosuggestion" tapes. I don't know what that is, but he was listening to voices—I think his own voice—for hours, at three in the morning. I didn't see him do this, but he always talked about it. . . his meditating.

reporter: Is he searching for his soul?

cheyenne: I don't think he has a soul, so he is not searching for it. He is a great manitou —that's Tahitian for guru. He likes to lead people . . .

reporter: Yes, people see him as a leader who has helped the Indians, black people, the underdog . . .

cheyenne: Well, they should see him walking around in his pajamas with a hole in his pants, a hole that is not supposed to be there. They would see that he just doesn't care when he comes and knocks on my door all the time. He is a hypocrite.

reporter: Did you ever wonder about your father's relations with women?

cheyenne: Yes, of course. He always broke the heart of all the women he went out with

reporter: Whom are you thinking about?

cheyenne: About my mother first.

reporter: What about you. Do you think you are one of them?

cheyenne: No, I don't consider myself as one of his broken hearts. I realize now that I have always been his sacrifice and that Christian will always make him happy because he is his favorite child. So he has no hold over me anymore. My love for him is dead.

reporter: How do you think your father will react to this interview?

cheyenne: He will probably kill me. I'd rather not imagine it, even though I first spoke about it with my doctor.

Part 2 :

reporter: Does an unforeseeable reaction coming from your father worry you?

cheyenne: A little bit, especially because I still live in the States. I know the risks I take by speaking because my mother will also be implicated in this. Maybe he will be so mad that he will stop supporting her in Tahiti. If I were in Tahiti, I would be less afraid. I have a house there and all my family lives nearby. So nothing bad could happen to me. He could not put me out on the street there.

reporter: Five months after leaving L.A., how is your life today?

cheyenne: I'd say I've changed a lot. I completely stopped communicating with my father. We haven't spoken to each other for five months. February 20 was my birthday, but he didn't even send me a card. . . . He's probably fed up, so I guess I'm a lucky person. I think that here I have discovered his true nature. Sometimes it seems to me he doesn't have any conscience. He has this way of saying, "I would give my life for you," as he told me many times. But that's just not credible. He is a liar and he was lying when he said that.

reporter: Your father has also said that you are brain-damaged because of your auto accident in Tahiti.

cheyenne: They have done two scans on me, and they didn't see any brain damage. As for my memory loss, it is just that I do not want to remember because of the shock and the pain, I would have preferred to go to Te-tiaroa to get some rest. Instead of that, they put me in a lunatic asylum. . . .

reporter: It has been said that your father was angry at Dag for introducing his daughter to drugs. Was it Dag who made you a drug user?

cheyenne: No, not at all. I did drugs before knowing him. We used drugs with mutual consent, and we smoked marijuana a lot. We took acid just once, but it was a bad trip for both of us. But my father blamed Dag for the drugs because I used to explain everything to my father, and he never accepted the fact that I was using drugs. He was always blaming Dag for that.

reporter: How did your father make it clear that he didn't approve of your relationship with Dag

cheyenne: One day, with very little notice, he arrived on the island and immediately called me to his hotel room in Punaauia. He said he wanted me to come back to L.A. to take care of him. He was sixty-three and I was seventeen. He was living with a woman, Yachiyo—she was still there and at his beck and call—and yet I was supposed to stay with him, cook his meals, be close to him. He actually used the phrase "take care of me." It was as if he was asking me to choose between him and my fiance.

reporter: At the very beginning of the inquiry, you made this sensational revelation to the police officers. You said: "In case you didn't know, it's murder." What did you mean?

cheyenne: I thought about The Godfather. My father presented himself and his life in a different way, but The Godfather is one of his facets.

reporter: When you first saw the movie, you recognized your father under the godfather's features?

cheyenne: It was the image of the true Marlon Brando.

reporter: Watching The Godfather, it wasn't Don Corleone you were seeing?

cheyenne: No, it was my father in the flesh. Afterward, for a long time, I saw him as a myth. I saw that he had the mentality of the godfather, of the Mafia—the powerful man able to manipulate people as it pleases him. That's why I think my father has that power, and it reminded me of voodoo. That's why I said, "He is the demon." I believe that even today my father keeps a psychological influence over me, which I don't know how to get rid of.

Cheyenne' mother (Tarita Terpia) talked about this in her memoir in 2004 after Brando' death :

"Marlon has been accused of sexually abusing his own daughter in a shocking new book. The late legendary actor, who died last July, aged 80, is also branded a disgusting pervert by his Tahitian-born ex-wife Tarita Terpia in her life story 'Marlon, My Love and My Torment'.

The 63-year-old actress - who first met the 'Apocalypse Now' star in 1961 on the set of classic movie 'Mutiny on the Bounty' before marrying him in 1962 - claims Brando sexually abused their daughter Cheyenne, who hanged herself in 1995. According to Tarita, Cheyenne wrote in her diary that her father used to massage her "as if he wanted me to pretend we were making love". In the book, Tarita - who also had a son Teihotu, now 42, with Brando - speculates that the abuse could have contributed to her daughter's decision to commit suicide later in her life. Just before she died, Cheyenne's boyfriend was killed by Christian Brando, the actor's son from an earlier marriage.

The ageing actress - who divorced Brando in 1972 - claims her life with the Oscar-winning star was a living hell and describes him as a man of violently changing moods, capable of switching in an instant from tenderness to physical or mental cruelty. Speaking in an interview last month, Tarita said: "We lived terrible tragedies and we all suffered a lot."

by Anonymousreply 13December 11, 2016 4:52 PM

Everything was about him and his needs. How incredibly selfish that he absolutely didn't care how he was affecting his daughter, wife, and those around him. That's the mind of a true pedophile. They know a young child cannot object or fight back.

by Anonymousreply 14December 11, 2016 4:54 PM

I'm surprised that all of this is pretty much covered up or no one believes it just because Marlon was a great actor! SAD

by Anonymousreply 15December 11, 2016 4:55 PM

R14 Marlon being best friend with Jacko was No coincidence!

by Anonymousreply 16December 11, 2016 4:56 PM

He also raped that actress in Last Tango In Paris. She was only 18 he was years and years older than her. What a piece of shit.

by Anonymousreply 17December 11, 2016 5:04 PM

In other words, he was a monster.

I used to be a fan. I have read a couple biographies about him. However, it was recently that i discovered how overrated as an actor he was and still is. He was not only pretentious as a person, but he was also pretentious as an actor. It was as if he was playing himself in most of his films. He and James Dean are so overrated as actors. Now i can see it. They were icons, their physical presence was strong that's why people grew a fascination over them and thought that those guys were brilliant...However they were far from brilliant as actors. They just had the luck to play in some great scenes for movies that justifiably became classics.

Marlon Brando accused of sexually harassment - 2004

"Marlon Brando has been accused of sexually harassing his former business manager and confessing to having intercourse with underage children. Jo An Corrales, who worked for Brando from December 2000 through to March 8, 2004, is suing the estate of the legendary actor, who died last July, aged 80, for £260,000 for wrongful dismissal and sexual harassment. In a suit filed at a Los Angeles court this week,

Miss Corrales claims the Oscar-winning star subjected her to a hostile work environment exposing his genitals, touching her inappropriately, insisting she watch pornographic movies with him and revealing his sexual exploits with underage partners. The suit says: "Corrales spent many occasions being subjected to Marlon Brando's sexually graphic stories, including several documenting his sexual escapades with minors, which Corrales found very disturbing."

Last month, Brando was accused of sexually abusing his own daughter in a shocking new book. His Tahitian-born ex-wife, Tarita Terpia, claims in her life story 'Marlon, My Love and My Torment', the star sexually abused their daughter Cheyenne, who hanged herself in 1995.

According to Tarita, Cheyenne wrote in her diary that her father used to massage her "as if he wanted me to pretend we were making love".

From Tarita Terripia (Cheyenne mother)' roughly translated book :

"Strangely enough, immediately after my departure from Los Angeles, when we are still filled with deep grief after Cheyenne death, Marlon takes the lead role in the filming of The Island of Doctor Moreau. He plays the Doctor Moreau, a crazy scientist who creates creatures similar to humans, which he controls by means of a system of electrical impulses and which he calls "his children." I have only noticed a few words from this creepy film, one sentence that one of these beings addresses to Doctor Moreau: "Why do you hurt us when we are your children?" I cried when I remembered Cheyenne and Teihotu, who could have asked their father the same question. At the end of the film, one of the "children" kills the father.

"Cheyenne's death shattered the life of her brother Teihotu. After my return from America. Teihotu, who was living with his wife and his three children near me, suddenly decides to visit his father. I later learned that Teihotu had expected answers from his father about Cheyenne, but ultimately he did not get them. Up to Marlon's death, Teihotu seems to have always been furious with him. "

I really dislike you hysterical pedo-freak fraus. I don't know why you come to this site but I wish you'd find somewhere else to infest with your pedo-in-every-pot bullshit.

You have absolutely no idea whether Marlon Brando fucked his daughter or anybody else. That girl was mentally ill. I wouldn't put much stock in what his ex-wives say in books they write to make money off of him. Allegations in lawsuits against his estate aren't proof of anything either. They're just people out for money and there is no independent evidence that he ever touched his daughter in an inappropriate way. It is irresponsible and just plain stupid to instantly assume that these allegations are true the way that you are doing (and have done in the past).

Leave Marlon's "friendship" with Wacko out of it, you don't know that it means a goddamn thing. Elizabeth Taylor was a lot closer to Wacko and spent more time with him than Marlon did, she wasn't a child molester. You always take these things so personally, a therapist is the best person with whom to discuss your issues with your father. Taking it out on actors and actresses isn't doing anyone any good.

by Anonymousreply 34December 11, 2016 6:01 PM

I'm kind of with r30. I mean, it sounds like he was indulging in voyueristic father-daughter love fantasies with massaging/affectionate nuzzling, but that's as far as it went, and that she picked up on it. To what degree she exagerrated or embellished (or conversely, downplayed) is hard to know. She was pretty ill mentally, and had plenty of other reasons to feel abandoned and betrayed, and when a child is betrayed by a parent who has consistently distanced themselves, their feelings about said parent and their sexuality becomes much more complicated than it would otherwise.

So yes, I think that it sounds like there was some inappropriate boundary-crossing, but it's important to give credit where it's due. If the so-called "breast touching" was actually lingering fingers on the shoulder, then it's important to make that distinction.

Also---r17, you're wrong. There was no sex. I'm not a Brando defender, because he probably has raped somebody, but there's no need to make things up.

by Anonymousreply 37December 11, 2016 6:07 PM

The 90's were the heyday of "repressed molestation theory".Every fuck up in your life was because when you were five daddy touched you "down there" and you blocked it out for 30 years. I knew a shrink who bought a vacation home in Barbados with the money she made off this scam. Of course once this psychiatric vogue was tapped out and all those innocent mummies and daddys were let out of jail, it made probate lawyers a fortune revising parent's wills.

by Anonymousreply 38December 11, 2016 6:27 PM

I see here a lot molestation' defenders . making justification and downplay the abuse SMH

by Anonymousreply 39December 11, 2016 6:34 PM

R38 is right. A lot of it was total bullshit.

Which is not to say that Cheyenne was certainly basing her statement on the results of some memory recovery therapy session. Just that people were probably less likely to ask the right questions because of the atmosphere around sexual abuse allegations.

People still have an unhealthy attitude towards sexual abuse allegations. Too many are ready to believe anyone who makes an accusation, regardless of the mental illness and/or monetary impetus that may be behind it.

It's sad, really, I end up thinking that the people who are so quick to believe these charges must have been molested themselves, or at least they believe that they were molested. It's impossible for them to be objective or rational about it.

by Anonymousreply 43December 11, 2016 6:45 PM

From the molesters' defenders comments in this thread, This is why molestation victims never come forward because folks are so quick to say they're lying. everyone dismissed Cheyenne' words after she was tagged as being “unstable” and "Schizophrenic" without credence being given to what might have caused it.

Which points to the sad fact that a victim word had to be validated by the rapist to have some value!

by Anonymousreply 52December 11, 2016 7:03 PM

It doesn't have to be "validated by the rapist" R52, don't be so fucking hysterical. You are talking about an allegation that a very serious crime has been committed. That is not something to be thrown around as lightly as some of you people do it.

There has to more evidence than simply a mentally ill girl's story that she was molested. Do her psychiatrists back this claim? She had several over the years. Did anyone who is not trying to get money from Brando see and report inappropriate contact between Cheyenne and Brando? Did any of Cheyenne's friends or teachers see or say anything that was contemporaneous with the alleged abuse?

What r55 said. I can believe that Brando crossed the line, but it doesn't mean that everyone should take what the victim in her state says at face value.

Another thing---people blame Marlon for what happened to Drollet, but that relationship was doomed. Read the interview with Drollet's father. He says that Cheyenne was delusional and viewed herself as the most beautiful, and the smartest---well, she was very beautiful. In keeping with Polynesian tradition, his son beat her.

My point is that I can buy that Marlon made her feel uncomfortable, and I can buy that he abandoned his kids and their mother, but I also think that it's obvious that he occasionally had good intentions.

by Anonymousreply 63December 11, 2016 8:26 PM

She was beautiful---she was half Polynesian, and looks it, but she definitely was beautiful. She had every reason to feel special---it's unfortunate that she was also crazy and had rock-bottom low self-esteem, and was left on a shitty island where she involved herself with an abuser with powerful family.

R44 When Natasha first said she was felt up there was a noticeable silence with everyone. Then the other actress laughed so loud. Then Conan is like "wait, what?"as if in shock. Then the other dude says he was looking away/ignoring it. Then Conan says of course if it's Marlon Brando than you can't say anything about it. Then the clip ends with Natasha joking it was the highlight of her professional career that she was felt up by Marlon Brando.

The fact that it's being joked about in such a way is disturbing. The silence after Natasha first said it spoke volumes, everyone knew it was wrong, but they all turned it into a joke.

The fact that when shooting a film, there were was a room full of crew, fellow actors/actresses, the director etc and nothing was said about Brando's unprofessional and innapropriate pervert behavior JUST BECAUSE IT'S MARLON BRANDO speaks volumes.

by Anonymousreply 65December 11, 2016 8:40 PM

In his memoir, Keith Richards says that Brando tried to get maneuver him & Anita Pallenberg into a threesome. They declined.

I can well believe that Brando slept with a number of underage girls on the island. At a certain point of superstardom, some famous men feel that taboos no longer apply to them.

by Anonymousreply 66December 11, 2016 8:46 PM

by Anonymousreply 67December 11, 2016 8:46 PM

R30 et al, I once told an older woman co-worker that she must have been a wonderful mother to her 3 children. "No," she said. "I made a lot of mistakes." I replied, "That's what made you such a wonderful mother. You admit you weren't perfect and you told your kids that fact but you always tried your best to be loving and caring." I'll bet that woman would have rushed to get professional therapy for any of her kids if they had ever accused her, her husband, or another close relative of sexual, emotional, or physical abuse. She would have realized something was not right for a child to say something like that and would have wanted to know why. Perhaps the kid was a witness to someone else's sexual behavior? Had been attacked by a total stranger at work and couldn't clearly explain the circumstances?

All a sensible person would have to do is look at the beyond creepy photo of Marlon with his arm around his 7-year-old daughter in a NOT very fatherly or protective way to see something was way, way off in their relationship. If his daughter was beginning to call out her famous dad in interviews as not the image of what was being presented to the world then WHY didn't he seek professional help for her? Or if he was opposed to therapists at least choose an unbiased adult male to be her guardian and on call advocate especially after he learned she was in a physically abusive relationship with Dag Drollet? Would a truly caring father ignore such clear signs of serious trouble and danger to his own flesh and blood? Clear case of emotional abuse IMHO.

by Anonymousreply 68December 11, 2016 8:52 PM

Yes, R63, movie stars kids being fucked up is proof-positive that they have been molested by their movie star parents.

Got it. So Pierce Brosnan molested that fucked up son of his and Tom Hanks molested his fucked up son. All those Willis girls must have been getting it on the regular from ol' Brucie, they're really fucked up.

Let's see who else in Hollywood has fucked up kids? Oh wait, I know...... all of them! They were all molested.

by Anonymousreply 69December 11, 2016 8:56 PM

For the posters on this thread who claim Brando did NOT molest Cheyenne, what would you need for it to be proven otherwise?

Most children who were molested, emotionally and/or physically abused do not grow up to be good partners with positive relationships. It's far, far worse if their parents were rich and famous and adored by the world.

Tarita said in her book that Cheyenne was being treated in a hospital in Paris and she was steadily improving when all of sudden Marlon showed up unannounced and released/kidnapped Cheyenne from the hospital without her mother knowledge or consent and put her away in an isolated house with him, Tarita tracked them down and found out that Cheyenne' condition worsened again.

From Tarita Teripia roughly translated book :

"France seems like a place of peace. In the clinic everyone is very friendly. Cheyenne is getting better and better. She learns to relax, gradually regains sleep and appetite and enjoys the walks in the beautifully planted clinic park.

How long have we not experienced such a happy moment? On the 26th of June, we celebrate Tuki's first birthday in Cheyenne's room . Her face glows as before, and when you see her with her son in her lap, both bend over the cake, you might think she is simply a happy young mother. Cheyenne seems to be improving.

"Cheyenne calls her father from Le Vésinet. But he does not want to come to France, maybe he does not have time, I do not know. I am disappointed and do not want to talk to him anymore. I do not even want Cheyenne to speak of him. How can he refuse to come where she needs him?

But one afternoon in November someone calls me out of the clinic. Cheyenne has packed and left the hospital. "I beg your pardon? She's gone? "" Her father picked her up. We thought you knew- "" Her father? But her father is not in France. "" Yes, Madame, Monsieur Brando is in France, he just picked her up. "I do not know why he kidnapped her. And why he did tell me ? For several hours I am beside myself with sorrow and anger. Then the phone rings. It's Marlon. He wants me to come with Tuki and Raiatua to a house near Paris. Why did not he inform me earlier?

As always, Marlon makes no explanation. Later, we meet Marlon and Cheyenne in a big house in the middle of the country Close to Orléans. At least he seems to imagine that Cheyenne could be cured by his presence and the beauty of this place. Unfortunately, the opposite happens. While she was constantly under control in Le Vésinet, Cheyenne is suddenly left to herself, complains soon of insomnia, and I see again in her eyes that fear flare up, which also frightens me. As if everything would start again. After ten months of mental balance, rest, and hope, Cheyenne is in a worse condition again."

[quote] For the posters on this thread who claim Brando did NOT molest Cheyenne,

I don't believe anyone has said categorically that he did not, only that we do not know that he did and it has not been proven that he did. Allegations are not proof. You don't actually know that he molested her any more than we do.

[quote] what would you need for it to be proven otherwise?

I already posted this upthread:

[quote] There has to more evidence than simply a mentally ill girl's story that she was molested. Do her psychiatrists back this claim? She had several over the years. Did anyone who is not trying to get money from Brando see and report inappropriate contact between Cheyenne and Brando? Did any of Cheyenne's friends or teachers see or say anything that was contemporaneous with the alleged abuse?

by Anonymousreply 78December 11, 2016 9:23 PM

^^^^I understand how horrible Brando was as a father. Totally agree. But its not as if he was without reason in wanting to "rescue" her from her adult life. I know Polynesians---domestic violence is widely accepted. The LA Times article with defensive quotes from Dag's father, e.g. "A slap isn't a blow," just supports that it was an issue. I'm guessing that the mom encouraged the relationship with Dag, because his family was important and were friends of hers, and Brando didn't want it. Possibly because of unhealthy jealousy, but most certainly because he didn't want his daughter to walk around with black eyes like so many local women in Tahiti do.

R78 "Did any of Cheyenne's friends or teachers see or say anything that was contemporaneous with the alleged abuse?"

Does abuse need witnesses to prove it?! Shut Up you miserable cow!

by Anonymousreply 80December 11, 2016 9:29 PM

R72, Thanks for the post. Says it all doesn't it? True sign of an extremely controlling, emotional abuser who would always flatly deny he acted inappropriately with anyone. Didn't care that his daughter was rapidly recovering mentally and physically and had achieved piece of mind in her present calm environment. Many survivors of abuse become extremely fearful once they give birth as they aren't completely confident they can fully protect their children. Bet Marlon Brando never accepted the slightest bit of responsibility for her suicide either as he wouldn't attend her funeral.

Marlon Brando's grandson is cute. Does he model or act?

by Anonymousreply 81December 11, 2016 9:35 PM

In order to prove that someone has sexually abused a child, yes there needs to be some sort of proof that isn't just the rantings of a mentally ill woman or the accusations of people trying to get money from a movie star (or from his estate). You may find it distressing but it is not legal or sensible to require proof of all other crimes and not require proof of sexual molestation.

She was regularly and repeatedly under the care of various psychiatrists and psychologists, have any of them substantiated these claims of sexual abuse?

How about household staff? Lots of Wacko's staff came forward over the years and talked about the unsavory goings-on in his house, how about any of Brando's staff (hopefully ones who aren't suing his estate or anything) talked about Brando's inappropriate behavior with Cheyenne?

What about her friends or teachers? Did she talk to them about it at the time? I know that doesn't always happen but did they notice anything untoward or disturbing going on between Cheyenne and her father?

It's possible Brando molested his daughter. He was a nutcase, probably as fucked up as friend Michael Jackson. But it also has to be taken into account that Cheyenne was very mentally ill. She told her brother Christian that Dag was beating her up, which is why he killed him. There was no evidence to support her allegation. But I tend to believe what she has to say about Brando. He was crazy.

by Anonymousreply 87December 11, 2016 9:51 PM

What about her mother? She says that she believes her daughter, but in retrospect do the allegations make sense or not?

I don't believe you need witnesses, but consistency and clarity are important when somebody is as much of a mess as this girl was.

by Anonymousreply 88December 11, 2016 9:51 PM

Not true, r87---even Dag's dad conceded that he probably slapped her a few times. Which means that he probably did it dozens of times.

Domestic violence is an accepted part of life on Polynesian islands...shocking, because otherwise, the culture tends to be very gentle and beautiful. They say that the older a couple becomes, the better they become at communication, and that these things work themselves out. Seriously. It's not seen as a big deal. At. All.

" Marlon tries to talk to me about Cheyenne. He had learned that one can revive the spirit of a deceased with a strand of hair. This is what he wants, he wants to see Cheyenne, talk to her and hire an artist to make a statue of her ... How can I bear to listen to him? In the end, I cry, "Stop, Marlon! I beg you, stop it! R40, What isn't brought out in that news article is that years later the woman was able to find physical evidence such as the victim's clothing she had seen her father bury after he killed her childhood playmate. That's what enabled his conviction for murder.

Also a young child may not be able to correctly interpret what is going at the time of physical violation especially if he/she grew up in a repressive or religious family where sexuality is not discussed. It's been proven that a majority of little kids who claim they are possessed by the Devil or by an Evil Spirit that comes to them or changes them in the middle of the night are actually referring to a relative that enters their bedroom to molest them once they're asleep. Somehow blaming an outside force that possesses them convinces the innocent child that they're not at fault despite their overly moral teachings where masturbation is considered sinful.

Worse a very manipulative adult who gives a child presents or takes him/her on trips or offers special attention and affection as a way of seducing the lonely kid may eventually really cross the line. Many children have the ability to convince "bad things" aren't happening if they also get rewards. It's only as an adult they may realize such behavior isn't normal and they aren't to blame.

Not to say repressed memories are never completely inaccurate. Psychopaths and sociopaths lie about many things in their life. A well-trained therapist should be able to tell the difference. Also many realize the negative consequences of putting the family breadwinner in jail is so damaging they retract earlier claims of abuse whether that's accurate or not.

R106 It's true, i've read peter Manso biography on Brando , it was said he had Gonorrhea and he still continued to fuck the local Tahitian girls , and in turn they spread it to others and the cycle continued.

by Anonymousreply 107December 12, 2016 12:46 AM

Unless they were named Cheyenne, they were hardly taken advantage of, R107. Carlos Fiore makes it sound like Brando was constantly battling one STD after another and crabs were a constant.

by Anonymousreply 108December 12, 2016 2:01 AM

They were too taken advantage of. Brando liked them because they were passive and wouldn't call him on his BS like and American woman would have. And he gave them the clap - deal with it!! Brando also had crabs and VD when he was a struggling actor in NYC! He didn't always take baths either.

by Anonymousreply 109December 12, 2016 2:37 AM

No, R96, there was nothing like that. What enabled his conviction were the idiot psychologists and partly the judge. In fact what came out is that the only things she "remembered" were all things that had been reported in the news. Even the inaccuracies reported in the news. She parrotted the inaccuracies - 3 or 4 of them.

She tried to change her story after to reflect updated information. She tried to get her brother to lie about the fact these alleged recovered memories came about under hypnosis and not just therapy. Even her sister also provided testimony that undermined her claims - she had claimed her sister was initially in the van. She tried to change the time of day since there was proof she was in class at the time.

Then later she claimed there were more murders by her father she witnessd and when the DNA proved not to be his in one of them she changed her story to include a 2d man was with her father, a friend of her father's - perhaps her godfather or uncle. Then even that guy was eliminated via DNA.

A complete clusterfuck.

R110 Anna Kashfi was welsh and Rachel Dolezal'd her way into Marlon's life because she knew he liked ethnic women. Her book "Brando for breakfast" is such a hot mess. Anna' pathological obsession over Marlon drove her crazy, she used her son Christian as a vindictive tool to battle her Ex husband , she even hired hippies to kidnap Christian to Mexico when he was staying with Marlon. I've read many horror stories about Anna from different accounts, she chased brando with a butcher knife once. I think she was the only woman who really SCARED the shit out of Marlon! Strange enough,he seemed to be helpless when it came to her.

by Anonymousreply 119December 12, 2016 5:26 PM

The situation with Anna Kashfi was more complicated than her just lying about her being of Indian ancestry. From the many things I have read I am not convinced that she was completely lying and all you have to do is have looked at her son with Marlon to know that. Marlon was brutal towards her in the aftermath of finding out her ancestry and used his money and power to take away her rights as a mother. From everything I read the mother was a mess but Marlon brutalized all parties emotionally. The facts remain his family was a mess. Poor Cheyenne did she ever have a chance ? I hope her beautiful son lives a happy life.

Marlon was a big fucking HYPOCRITE, he treated his Tahitians kids like shit, although he claimed he wanted to be a proud Tahitian dad, He even refused to claim them until 1973/1974...they were named after their mother until Marlon decided to give them his fucking Brando name but still totally neglecting them..he was shit father too to his other kids but at least he gave his American kids some of his time and acknowledgment.

Strange enough his adopted kids Miko and Rebecca are the only ones who talk fondly about him and seem to have had a good relationship with him, while his other biological ones had a difficult bitter relationship with him!

"The violence that had been building inside John Lennon all night came bursting out the moment he left the studio. It struck so fast and unexpectedly that it stunned May Pang. She recalled that John was walking unsteadily toward the parking lot when suddenly he cast a drunken look over his shoulder at Jesse Ed Davis. Running over to him, Lennon gave Jesse Ed a passionate kiss on the mouth. Not to be outdone, Jesse Ed grabbed John and kissed him back. Lennon screamed, "Faggot!" - and knocked Jesse flat on his ass.

At that moment Phil Spector roared up in his old Rolls-Royce with George at the wheel. Roy Cicala was following in his car. Phil leaped out and threw May Pang into the Rolls. Then he pushed John into the back seat of Cicala's car, ordering Keltner and Davis to sit next to John and Arlene Reckson to get into the front seat beside Cicala's assistant, Jimmy Iovine. Both cars took off at once for Lou Adler's house. As they sped along the hushed streets of Bel Air, May could hear John screaming in the car behind her: "May! Yoko! May! Yoko!"

The moment John had realized that he had been separated from May, he had gone berserk. He had yanked Arlene's hair like a child. He had tried to kick out the windows of the car. Davis and Keltner sought to restrain him, but he had displayed extraordinary strength, pulling out Keltner's hair by the handful. When the cars screeched to a stop before the house, Arlene jumped out and ran toward May, shouting, "John's gone mad!"

May wanted to put John to bed at once. Spector ordered her to sober him up first with coffee. He warned that John was still highly dangerous. No sooner were the words out of Phil's mouth than John lunged for the little producer's throat. Instantly Spector was on his feet issuing orders.

George seized Lennon from behind and frog-marched him upstairs to the bedroom. Bang! went the door. May heard John screaming, "Gimme back my glasses, you Jew bastard!" Inside the bedroom George was tying Lennon's hands to the bedposts with neckties from the closet. The bodyguard showed his professional skill by tying Lennon face-down.

When Lennon found himself being tied down, with his ass up in the air, he flashed back on his sex scenes with Brian Epstein. "I thought, Phil is gonna fuck me up the ass!" he told Jesse Ed the next day. Instead of fighting and screaming, John suddenly changed his tune. Now he whined: "Please let me go, Phil. Be my baby! I'll sing your song great, Phil!" Then John started singing "Be My Baby."

by Anonymousreply 127December 15, 2016 10:29 PM

R102 I can't stand stans, either. The difference between fans and stans is that the latter worship their actors (or whatever) with a blind devotion. Any negative comment about said star, no matter how big or small, is immediately dismissed and the person making the statement/accusation is thereby pounced on, relentlessly.

Joan Crawford is another who has her weird stans who don't want to believe that she was capable of abusing her children. It doesn't help that Ryan Murphy -- the stereotypical, diva-worshipping gay -- pretty much absolved her in his sentimental FEUD series. After the last episode aired, I saw more and more JC stans going around online (e.g. YouTube, Facebook) calling Christina a liar and bitch and using Murphy's disclaimer at the end (which wrongly states that everybody refuted Christina's claims) as proof that she was lying. Bizarre.

R96, George Frankiln's conviction was overturned.

One of the reasons was that Eileen Franklin, his accusing daughter, was shown to have perjured herself during the trial. She denied having been hypnotized but evidence proved she been hypnotized and all of the evidence that could be proved was in newspaper articles about the crime. She had no physical evidence she found that resulted in his conviction.

Eileen also claimed her father killed two other women but DNA testing proved he had nothing to do with those murders.

Recovered memory is bullshit. Pure and simple. That is not how the brain works. You may start recalling things from your past but since everything that has happened since these events affects your memory of them there is no way of knowing the accuracy of memories. Unless of course one can prove it through other means.
